Orphan Stories
Below are photos of just a few of the hundreds of orphans we serve in Nigeria.  Their stories are typical of the kids who arrive at our doors.

These 10 girls and Go Nigeria are looking for donors for 10 greenhouses ($7,000 each) to be named in their honor--greenhouses which will provide them with better nutrition and also help support our orphanages.  See Genesis Farms button for more information about "20 Greenhouses for 20 Orphans."

Please share your blessings and help as you are able.

Thank you.

Rebecca (left) & Blessing, 11 & 9 years old

These two sisters have been with the ministry for two years now. They are really beautiful girls--very bright and intelligent.
Rebecca loves school and is first in her class, with excellent English. Blessing is very artistic and also reads very well.
They were rescued from death by a pastor in their village after they were badly beaten and tortured by family members after the sudden death of both of their parents.
These girls were falsely accused of killing their parents through being members of the secret society, an occult group. They were made to sleep on their parents graves and starved.  Since then they have thrived and they love to dress in nice clothes and take pride in their appearance.

  Faith, 7 years old

Faith was brought to us very tiny and malnourished two years ago. She had been badly abused by family members after her parents died when she was 18 months old.  She was accused of killing them through secret society involvement. She is a very determined young lady who likes to try everything. She is fit and healthy now, although small for her age. She is very active and likes to play as well as go to school. She laps up attention and is very loving.

  Favour, aged 3 years

Favour and her older brother were brought to us by a neighbour who took them in when their mother died. Their mother was alone with them and led a life of prostitution. She used to tie Favour to the bed post so she would not run away at night while she was out doing business. The mother died suddenly and there was no knowledge of the father. She  is very affectionate and is laps up attention. She speaks English well and loves being inquisitive.
    Godiya, 9 years old

Came to the ministry with her brother.  Their father was a builder who one day had an accident and died; their mother made and sold local beer and one day she just never came home again. The two children were left to manage alone. Some neighbours took them in but treated them like slaves. A man saw their plight and rescued them and brought them to us.  Godiya is a lovely, strong-willed child. She is intelligent and keen to learn. She likes to sing and dance and be creative.

  Mary, 9 years old

Came to us in May 08 after the death of her mother. Her father had died two years prior, and Mary was left to care for her ill mother and two brothers. She is very quiet but has begun to open up in school and with new friends.  She is very sweet and polite. She loves to make crafts and help with cooking.

  Precious, 7 years old

Came to us in May ‘08 after her father died and mother turned to prostitution.  Precious showed some signs of sexual abuse. But she is very affectionate and laps up attention.  She is learning fast now that she is in school.

  Patience, 10 years old

Precious’s big sister.  She is quiet and studious and since coming to the ministry has been trying really hard to learn to read. She is a quiet child and often withdraws herself from the others.

Mafeng, 9 years old

Her mother died and her father did not cope well and became an abusive, violent alcohlic. Mafeng is a lovely girl who is very intelligent and loves learning and having fun.

  Gift, 13 years old

Gift is an orphan, her mother died in 06 from HIV after a life of prostitution; father unknown. She is a hard-working girl; she loves to cook and look after little ones as well as take great delight in going to school, having previously not having had the chance. She is learning to read very well and is extremely determined. She is turning into a delightful young lady. She has a strong faith.
